A successful Stonegate apprentice is recognised by a special award at the houses of parliament

Inspiro has been working with Stonegate for almost 10 years, delivering high quality hospitality apprenticeships solutions that provides a range of benefits to Stonegate and their teams. Stonegate’s apprenticeship programme benefits from a bespoke delivery model that was skilfully created by Inspiro’s curriculum design team to reflect their brand, values and expertise. Over this time we have developed a highly effective partnership that supports all of Stonegate’s brands. Offering a diverse range of apprenticeship solutions, the programme reflects their commitment to workforce development and supports Stonegate’s goal of providing fantastic customer experiences.

Karen Preddy is an outstanding example of how Inspiro’s and Stonegate’s partnership has encouraged Stonegate team members to reach their full potential. Karen has worked at Stonegate for nearly four years and has excelled during her time in the business. Working at the Coventry Slug & Lettuce branch, Karen started out as a Team Member where she was quickly promoted to Team Leader and then Kitchen Manager, underpinning her career development with Stonegate’s apprenticeship programmes.

Karen has taken every opportunity to progress and develop her skills, initially completing the Stonegate internal programme Evolution level 2 and then quickly progressing to the Hospitality Supervision and Leadership apprenticeship. With Karen excelling in her roles and demonstrating a keen eagerness to learn new skills and knowledge, in October 2019 she enrolled on the level 4 Hospitality Management apprenticeship. Scheduled to complete the apprenticeship in April 2021, Karen continues to be an asset to herself and her team.

As recognition for her dedication and hard work Karen was recently awarded a special award for her outstanding contribution to her apprenticeship at the National Apprenticeship Week Event at the Houses of Parliament.

Speaking about Karen’s progress, Inspiro Regional Trainer Lyndon Sims says, ‘It’s been a pleasure to work with Karen and I am delighted with the progress she has made to date. She takes everything in her stride and should be really proud of what she has achieved. She is a great role model for Stonegate’s apprenticeship programme and I look forward to seeing her achieve her level 4 apprenticeship. ’

Jemelle Bish, Stonegate’s Career Development Manager, adds “Karen has been an exceptional apprentice and it’s a pleasure to share in her success. Our apprenticeship programme is a core strand of our workforce development strategy, and Karen’s story demonstrate how successful our programme is in supporting long term career development.”
